I don't think you can recover what has already been clipped. I asked my barber about that once but no luck. She just swept it all away and I had to start over the following month.
Are you able to see the Audacity VU meter level bars while ripping? When I was ripping I would play a loud section of music while looking at the level bars to ensure that they were mostly in the green with only an occasion clip which is fine.
I was also able to monitor the rip realtime by plugging headphones into my computer.
Do you have several rips to redo or was it just a couple that went too loud?
