I haven't been that impressed with MoFi's SACDs for the Paul Simon catalog...until now. Bookends is quite good. Better than the transfers for PSR&T, SCAATY, There Goes Rhymin' Simon and Bridge Over Troubled Water. I found the others very reverb-y and diffuse, with poor soundstage and impinged vocals. Maybe a phase problem with some of the devices in the transfer chain. Bookends seems to have avoided that problem and has nice dynamics compared to the others.
I also quite like the Joni Mitchell - Blue. The Springsteen titles, not so much. Acoustic Sounds has a slower rollout for the announced SACDs, but the quality seems superior and more reliable. Is that what others are finding?
