Marantz advises that their 2-channel SA8001 player does not recognize multi-channel. I take this to mean that if there is no stereo SACD layer (such as SFSO recordings)the SA8001 will either not play at all or will play back the redbook layer only. Can anyone corroborate this and are there any other SACD labels which omit the stereo SACD layer? This will affect my decision to purchase this unit for my 2 channel system. Thanks.
