Compare to the internal DAC section inside the 3910 it did seems to sound a bit smoother with slightly(just a bit... could be my imagination) more details IMHO in the 2ch mode w/ no sound processing involved.However, I do want to see if there is any audio only DAC unit that support the comsumer i.Link audio interface/protocol that I have missed. Instead of getting a SACD player I can get one of these and use my 3910 as a multi-formats transport. Sounds like the only one that I have seen so far is the Esoteric P-03 which is out of my price range ;) There are some professional studio gears that use firewire/i.Link but those don't seem to be compatible with the comsumer i.Link audio.
I guess I will have to shop for a SACD player instead later on (have to put this aside for now since I've just acquired a pair of Innersound Eros :D )
