This is incorrect and shows a misunderstanding of what's been written about the job. What has to be done is to re-burnish the motor's brushes so a stable electrical connection between the rotor to stator is made internally in the motor.
This actually burns away the used layer of the brush's surface to present a new clean surface so a good connection is made again - obviously it can't be done too many times before there are no brushes left.
Hence a source of new motors would be a real nice thing to have available.
