I will never forget the unabated firestorm that accompanied my initial comments (18,000 words) in January 2000 on SACD and the SCD-1 that I posted at rec.audio.high-end subsequently at audioreview.com. (see link below)

The anti-SACD objectivist zealots (none of whom had even heard SACD but who argued that CD was as good as humans could possibly resolve)came out firing with both barrels blasting with a furious lambasting that lasted for weeks. I literally had to hang on for dear life. I have never had to write (Internet posts) so much from a defensive posture as I did in early 2000. But hang on I did and actually posted a 18,000 word follow up reaffirming my impressions of the SCD-1 in April of 2000 that can also be found at audioreview.com.

Those were the good old days.
