Yes, the SA-11S1 is a very musical yet accurate player. It has a very high level output (balanced, which sounds better, and single-ended) which provides plenty of juice to run through a passive preamp, if you prefer.I found that my local dealer, a very snobby type of high-end shop, was willing to negotiate a lower price. I asked them very straightforwardly yet politely, informing them that the unit could be had for considerably less through on-line sources, and they reduced price by about 20%.
