question about processing

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

i use a lexicon outboard processor for multichannel, and have recently purchased a universal player - not sure of the processing protocol
the question is - can i use the tape loop on my preamp for the lexicon and keep it off for two channel (phono, redbook, sacd, etc)?
will the tape loop pass the multichannel signal, and, conversely, will the sacd two-channel area play thru an aux input without benefit of dolby processing?
the point is to use the lexicon only during multichannel play and eliminate it completely for stereo
