Haven't heard the 3910, but I'd steer clear of the 8260. Very nice sounding unit, but a complete pain in the rear (do a search--you'll find tons of posts about problems with it skipping and refusing to read discs).Even after Marantz's service center declared my machine "fixed" it still refused to play certain discs at various times. Just wasn't worth the aggravation so I sold it. Good luck
