I checked again today & a fellow at the US 800 number said the motor has been MD'd and is at zero stock level in the USA for good. He did not know about parts availability in other markets. He stated that typically with older models the inventory level of specific piece parts is depleted to zero according to demand, while various other piece parts for the model may remain in inventory for a time. I was successful in ordering a spare spindle motor & laser pickup. No decision yet to withdraw support for the unit as a whole. Goodbye Yellowbrick Road.
