We have recorded every Telarc classical project in DSD since at least 1998. We continue to do so. While maintaining the concentration on achieving the best-possible direct-to-stereo mix, every session also has a direct-to-surround mix.The vast majority of Telarc-produced/engineered non-classical projects are also recorded in DSD. We've gone to a lot of extra expense and added effort to have this capability and to not just go the ProTools route as everyone else does. I hope it shows in the end results on our releases!
CMG has not said one word about what Telarc records or how we record it. Glen Barros & CMG should be commended for that.
Lastly, SACD could disappear today and we'd still be recording in the DSD format. It's simply the best way to record our masters, even if no one else cared.
Best Regards,Michael Bishop
