IMO, you'll find that well-engineered/produced DSD-sourced recordings will make the most of SACD. DSD is the recording format for SACD so of course a good DSD recording played in DSD is best. There are plenty of wonderful recordings from other format sources however.
As always, the music and performance must have the highest priority in choosing any release.
