Marantz DV6001 Universal Single Disc Player

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

FWIW, this new player is scheduled for release in January 2007.
As a universal, it will handle "all" the formats (but why not HDCD, which is an extension of redbook CD; Denon does it).
I looked at the manual; the HDMI is 1.1 version, but it does do upconverting to 1080p.
It has a PAL/NTSC converter. If it is "region code hackable," it would be a fairly versatile quality player at a reasonable (MRSP 549.00) price.
