Decca recorded Krips with the Vienna Phil in the 60s. In the CD era it was coupled with his LSO 'Unfinished' from the 60s, which means they are a decade later than the Munch. The Munch 'Unfinished' dates from circa 1955.There is a truly great Great C major on SACD from Audite, a live performance by Kubelik and the Bavarian RSO. But you can get an even older Great C major on SACD than the upcoming Munch, a 'Dreamlife' [ Japanese ] transfer from 1944 of Furtwaengler and the Berliners. Despite being transcribed from a Melodiya LP, with clicks and pops, it's a great performance, and the sound on SACD has a warmer, richer ambience than the standard CD transfers from the early 50s.
