New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

As good as the APL NWO-2.5 is, you might not want to sell it.

I couldn't find any NWO-1.0 or 2.0 or 2.5 units on the used market before I ordered my new 2.5. Judging by the many superlative comments about these players on Audiogon, AA, and APL HiFi Forums, people are extremely happy with the NWO units and perhaps are not inclined to sell them. Instead they can upgrade them. On the other hand, I've seen a lot of the Esoteric X-01 (and 03), UX-1 (and 03) units on the used market. Short of buying a new UX-1 or X-01, their used market is the only source for the superb top-of-the-line VRDS-NEO transport. Teac/Esoteric is not licencing this transport, only their lower level transports. I would agree with you that after all of Alex's changes, it is no longer an Esoteric. However, with the significant help of the superb VRDS-NEO and the excellent chassis, it undergoes a metamorphosis into a much higher level of a player (and a higher cost). Some claim that it is in a class by itself. I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing if that is will be true for my system and my tastes.
