I've done extensive cap upgrades, swapped the op-amp to an AD8620, put Auricaps and Vampire RCA's at the output, and built a reed-relay muting circuit along lines suggested at diyaudio to avoid the muting transistor fuzziness.This player sounds really nice now and it rarely has difficulty with discs. One or two hybrid SACD's have had dropouts but I think it's been the discs each time.
As a bonus, the video is outSTANDing, at least to my eyes!
