New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

Can I pick your brain for a couple of minutes Christine please?

I've been offered a Denon DVD-A1 for a decent price and while reading up on it came across a very extensive and thorough review which impressed me greatly, and once I'd scrolled to the bottom of the page who's name should I discover but yours!

That's the buttering up done, but what I'm interested in knowing is how the A1 stacks up against more recent players from Denon when it comes to two channel CD audio.

I'd imagine the video quality of more up to date, cheaper Denon players would be equal to or even better than the old battleship A1, but analogue outputs cannot be so easily improved or matched by using technological advances so component quality is what decides the quality, and I gather the A1 has particularly good component quality with a lot of attention paid to the transport?

To summarize then, will the old A1 give me video quality similar/approaching something like the Denon 3910 (or at least better than my existing Toshiba SD-900E) with better CD replay?

Thanks for your time if you can spare any Christine.

Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
