Are the coaxial digital outputs found on many CD players only for standard CD output (Redbook, correct?) or do some also output the digital signal from SACDs as well? <None of the NORMAL coax/optical digital outputs carry any signal when a SACD disc/layer is played - per the SONY Philips Scarlet Book license agreement.
There are a few expensive transports that do output a digital signal (Meitner. Accuphase, dCS etc) but this is an encrypted signal and will only work with their associated (and also very expensive) DAC unit.
OK?
