New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

To clarify what the others have said

Are the coaxial digital outputs found on many CD players only for standard CD output (Redbook, correct?) or do some also output the digital signal from SACDs as well? <

None of the NORMAL coax/optical digital outputs carry any signal when a SACD disc/layer is played - per the SONY Philips Scarlet Book license agreement.

There are a few expensive transports that do output a digital signal (Meitner. Accuphase, dCS etc) but this is an encrypted signal and will only work with their associated (and also very expensive) DAC unit.

OK?

Allen
