Reading the available information on the new SA-8001 there are two intersting details.
The first is the new design transport. Is this the new Marantz/Denon transport?
Also the output circuitry is described as HDAM with surface mount discrete components. All Marantz SACD players I have seen have mainly through hole caps and active components and surface mount resistors. Is the 8001 the same or a new approach?
The modern dac mentioned is the CS4397, same as the 6 year old 8260.
Is this machine just a repackaged SA-8400?George
