We're seeing a contraction of our SA-CD universe

I think what you are seeing is the contraction of the market into what, hopefuly, will remain a small but profitable niche. This has been going on for a while so no, you haven't missed anything :-) and you are correct in wondering what the fuss is all about. As the main players withdraw their active support, or their support altogether, we are left with what remains. And that's quit a lot actually. If you like Jazz and Classical that is. We have almost 4000 SA-CD's available to us, major orchestra labels are issuing discs (SFO, other US ensembles, Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra) and of course the many smaller recording labels. Internet retailers seem to be doing good business wordlwide, carry sufficient stock and continue to support us (MDT, Acoustic Sounds, Music Direc, CD Universe, Anazon, JPC, HMV, etc). I always said I like the niche status. Can you imagine SA-CD becoming mainstream...what would we do here a HiRez ?

Cheers,
Jw - who just ordered the Sonny Rollins disc on Audio Fidelity before that becomes unobtainable due to them abandoning the format :-)
