Rant: I hate amazon.co.uk

I've used amazon.com, amazon.de, and amazon.fr many times to order SACDs, and never had any issues at all. I've used amazon.co.uk three times, and two out of the three times they've screwed up or caused me problems.

The first time was when I ordered five SACDs - they shipped four of them, with the fifth being backordered. This was their decision - I had asked for all to be sent in one shipment, and would have been satisfied to wait. They decided to break up the order, and then apparently realized they would have to pay extra shipping to the US, so they summarily cancelled my order for the fifth disc. Did they refund any part of the shipping fees I paid? Of course not!

Just now, they shipped me an order with two SACDs, except that one of them was the regular CD version, not the SACD (they charged me the SACD price, of course). When I brought this to their attention, they "investigated." According to their website, if they make an error, i.e. send the wrong item, they will reimburse shipping costs.

Per their instructions, I sent the CD back, paying for return shipping to the UK out of my pocket. Results of "investigation?" They have decided not to admit they made an error. So, that means they will refund the money for the returned disc - just the disc. I paid for shipping both ways, and they won't refund that. Apparently if they pretend there is no error, no error occurred.

What is with these boneheads? No more dealings with them for me, that's for sure.
