Even identical speakers will sound somewhat different with pink noise due, simply, to their different positions in the room. I use three identical speakers for L/C/R in both systems and they can still be distinguished with pink noise. Nonetheless, the blend is vastly superior with music than it was with a so-called dedicated center speaker.
