It doesn't. The SACD LED keeps being on and the player doesn't recognize the disc.

I gave a Sony DVP-NS500V as a present to a friend years ago. That was the predecessor of the DVP-NS755V. I will borrow the remote of that unit to check. I do hope I'll be able to switch it off the SACD layer and play CDs and use the player with no remote until a get a replacement remote or even player.
