The only room treatment I use is natural room treatment, placing of furnishings in optimal positions for the best sound.
I have a very deep and wide soundstange that extends from the front of my sweet spot to about 15 or so feet behind my speakers with precise positioning of the musicians on the stage and about 10 square feet of ambiance in front of them.
The tonal accuracy of my system is very close to the timbre of real instruments when playing SACD, DVD-Audio, LPs, Cassettes or Reel to Reel tapes. If somehow I was able to tame the aggressive midrange and rolled off highs of CDs wouldn't that make my other sources have recessed midrange and aggressive treble?
