The Rubinstein disc seems to be the one clinker in the bunch: not really a bad recording from the sonic standpoint, but neither is it anything special. Fine as the performances are, this seems like an odd coice for a series designed to show off one's system.I really do also wish that RCA would address some of the pop Living Stereo titles—like perhaps a definitive transfer of Belafonte's Carnegie Hall concert, Schory's Music For Bang, Baa-room and Harp, or Chet Atkins in Hollywood (the superior first version, please).
While RCA probably figures that classical music lovers form the bulk of the SACD market, I'm sure many of the same people who've been collecting the classical LS's might also buy the pop albums, some of which are truly legendary.
