I would'nt send my SCD to them and loose $2k's worth of BGs/Vishays/RELs/etc.
In my case-I live 2000mls from Sydney I chasing another SCD S/H for nominal bucks and will keep it on hand for boards/ laser swops/ parts/etc in the future.
i.e A mint XA777 sold on Ebay Aus on the W/end for $1500 AUD--could be worth looking out for considering the Main Drive Board alone for these models is I believe $500 USD from Sony
Any Sony in the US I reckon Richard Kern would be your repair man to ask first.
