Home Hi-Rez Highway

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

While I might have agreed with you at one time. . .

I finally developed a power cord that makes a noticeable and measurable difference, so now I don't agree at all. While simply adding better copper in the last 4 feet of a simple lamp cord will not get you better sound, changing the arrangement of the wire to create an inductance or capacitance to sap off high frequency noise will give a great improvement. Adding a simple shield and grounding it will eliminate some noise, not to mention what can be done by adding inductive elements in the right configuration. The add on power cords are more of a filtering element than they are power cords in the classic sense.

I suppose you are satisfied the cheap interconnects packaged with mid-fi equipment, too? If not, then the better power cords work on pretty much the same principle.
