..thanks for your review. I think mats help and I am glad you are happy with it. I have used the Herbie Audio Mat and HubCaps and I like what they do. The improvement is noticeable, especially on soft passages like you say. I would not put the Herbie products in the 'spectacular' category, but they work as advertised.What made a more pronounced difference was the Audiotop fluid I recently purchased after a demo at Audible Arts. Audiotop is a Swiss firm (they also make (far too) expensive record cleaning fluids). It costs about 80 dollars per bottle. You just clean the disc once or twice and the improvements in clarity, definition and presence are very apparent. This fluid is better than the (much cheaper) Disc Solution - not a bad product in its own right.
