Home Hi-Rez Highway

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

There's an intersting thread over at the 'Gon about this.

Something to ponder ...

Given the realtively short life span of a modified player, is it wise to pay for a unit which sits on the shelf at the manufacturers/mod shop location for a year (or longer) before you can hear it? In this case, the modifier has already moved onto another model. When FX jitter recieves his player it will be yesterday's news ... it will be worth less money than it was worth at the time that he paid for it. He has already lost value without even hearing it.

That said, it may be wiser to purchase a good condition/used player here at AA or on Audiogon and let someone else take the monetary hit.

Jack
