Check the link below - non believers - acoustic instruments go way up there!Now I'm in no way claimingthat a human canhear constant tones above 20kHz - and many not often even 10kHz - but all these harmonic (and non harmonic) sounds must mix/beat with each other and hetrodyne back down into the range we can hear. This helps create the the complex sonic signature of the live instrument that cannot be made by an electronic synth that generates mixes of pure tones and their harmonics in the audible range.
And this - in my opinion - is a key reason why we need as much bandwidth as possible in our reproduction chain, which is one of several strengths of the Hi_Rez formats.
