Contrary to popular misconception this exceptional player does NOT exhibit the quirkiness that allegedly has been experienced by users stated on previous postings. I have personally sold and set up several of these units over the last couple of months. The only "quirk" experienced by myself and my clients is that in order to play DVD-Audio the digital output must be turned off. Multi channel and 2 ch SACD playback is fully functional with the digital output on. Using the "surround" button on the remote one can choose between stereo, multi or CD layer on a hybrid SACD from the comfort of your seat. The menu screens have never been "greyed" out, re: 2ch,multi etc options. An excellent sounding player in all formats with the best HDMI video performance I have seen in a player to date.
