the DTS DVD-Audio's. I just discovered DTS DVD-Audio's also offer high resolution in the DVD-Video format. So if your SACD player is also a DVD-player check these out.DVD-V 2.0 Stereo at either 96kHz or 48kHz usually at 24 Bit. (All DVD players!)
DVD-A 5.1 Surround at either 96kHz or 48kHz usually at 24 Bit. (DVD-Audio players only)
DTS 6.1 or 6.1 Surround at either 96kHz or 48kHz usually at 24 Bit. (DVD players with DTS decoder)The DTS DVD-Audio's usually include a couple of Music Videos. Like the Sony DVD-Videos the 2 channel tracks are high resolution as well, though usually 48kHz 16 or 20 Bit but it beats the Hell out of 2 channel Dolby Digital!
Speaking of high resolution in the DVD-Video format don't forget Classic Records and Chesky 24/96kHz DAD music only DVD-Videos. Also Hi-Res Music are also playable in full resolution on a regular DVD-Video player.
Just because you don't have a DVD-Audio player doesn't mean you have to avoid all DVD-Audio software.
Also there are full motion DVD-Videos with high resolution, so far I have:
MANGIONE, CHUCK: Feeling's Back [24 Bit 96kHz + Video] Chesky CHDVD 194
SARA K.: No Cover [24 Bit 96kHz + Video] Chesky CHDVD 195
JAMES TAYLOR: Live at the Beacon Theatre [24 Bit 48kHz + Video] Columbia Music Video CVD 50171
PINK FLOYD: The Wall [16 Bit 48kHz + Video, Widescreen] Columbia Music Video CVD 50198
ROGER WATERS: In The Flesh - Live [20 Bit 48kHz + Video, Widescreen] Columbia Music Video CVD 54185
Does anyone know of any other 2 channel high resolution PCM DVD-Videos? Anyone other than Chesky, Sony and DTS using high resolution PCM with full motion video?
Please don't move this to the DVD-Audiobaun as they already know about these and this was written for owners of SACD players which are also DVD-Video players who like Rock music.
Happy listening and viewing,
Teresa
