Being of modest financial means, yet convinced of the merits of SACD, I am wondering if we will ever see an audio only 2-channel CD/SACD player in the $500 range. It seems to me that there is a good market for first time audiophiles and those on a lesser budget. Is there any hope that a company like Rotel, NAD, Marantz, Arcam, MF or Sony would bring out such a player? Even under $1000 would be fine. It seems like there's the opportunity to create a Linn LP12 for digital audio that would be accessible and really open the ears of the masses (who shop in the under $1000 price range).
