I had a less than happy experience with the Yamaha S1500. Software problems right out of the box - if you adjusted the level of the front speakers above +3, the rear channels would shut off! A replacement unit from the dealer had the same problem. There were also a couple of discs that it flat out wouldn't play, both DVD-Audio and SACD's.The sound was OK, but really didn't impress at all. After 6 months I traded it in on a Marantz DV 9500 and I couldn't be happier. (Well maybe I could but it would cost a LOT more money)
