The Bruch: Violin Concerto and Scottish Fantasy with the Royal Philharmonic on one of those budget $5.00 Membran SACDs had audible distortion on climaxes and sounded rough. I cleaned it with Shine Ola CD/DVD/SACD Cleaner and the distorion totally disappeared as did most of the harshness, indeed the Violin sounds beautiful.My question: This was a brand new SACD how can the simple act of cleaning it remove distortion?
Also I only use Shine Ola when a disc is dirty. Should I start using it on every disc? Telarc advises not to use liquid cleaners.
Any comments, ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.
