I've said this before, and got bashed in this forum for that comment. I consider high-end, anyone who has an outboard DAC, or $1000+ CD-only player. If you invest in high-end SACD for stereo, chances are you also have high-end for CD, and the advantage in SACD over CD may be too small to care, given the large choice of CD available.
The future of SACD is in surround sound.
I was happy to find this market research, where industry professionals also identify surround music as a key future element.
