Replacing STAX Ear Pad Adhesive Sheets

Has anyone done this? How difficult is it? I understand that the adhesive is quite strong, so it's a one-shot deal in aligning everything. Jack at Woo Audio advised using Goo Gone very carefully to remove the residual adhesive on my 507 earspeakers. I intend to clean both the stats & the adhesive side of the ear pads before applying replacement adhesive sheets, which I've found on eBay.

I'm avoiding posting this on Head-Fi & Head-Case. Folks here are more civilized, and I want to encourage other STAX users here to participate in discussions here.
