RE: Upgrade from HD600, leaning HE500 or LCD-2 but more?

you make no mention of the tube headphone amp if it OTL or transformer based. That has lots to do with you selection. I own the HE500 and sold the LCD2 and both do not like OTL amps. Low impedance cans prefer transformer based amps the HD600 you have is 300 ohms and ideal fore an OTL. I would only try the two orthodynamic first before buying any one. I use the hE500 on a Taboo transformer based amp. Both the LCD2 is 50 ohms and the HE500 is 38 ohms. The HE500 does not work well on my CSP2 whereas all high impedance cans sound excellent on the CSP2
