I love both of my STAX phones, but I've been curious about how planars do in comparison. I've heard that they excel in bass reproduction. I listen mostly to classical music, categorized very broadly. I need to send my two STAX amps out for refurbishing, so now would be a good time to consider this. I listen to CDs, SACDs, and LPs.
Around $400 is my limit. What about Fostex T50RP?
