In your Denon players setup menu, have you switched the player to audio, instead of video? In audio mode, the player will default to the hi-res groups. Use the Denon navigation display. With your TV on, press the display button on the remote. Highlight the group and press the number you want on the key-pad and press enter. Group 1 is 5.1, group 2 is 2-channel 96/24.
