RE: audio performance of oppo bdp-83 vs. cambridge 640c

I have the Oppo and think it does a good job - maybe better than good - with CDs. Having said that, for Red Book, I have it connected to the DAC in a Magnum Dynalab MD90T tuner which has both a DAC and a tube output stage serving the DAC and the tuner stage. Super imaging and low end; detailed mids and highs. I've not auditioned the Cambridge and can't offer a view.
