I haven't heard all the discs out there in proper surround, but the only discs I really liked are:
- ELP "Brain Salad Surgery"-I love John Kellog's crazy mix
- Doors "L.A. Woman"-tasty!
- Chicago II & IV: again, hats off to John.
- Fleetwood Mac "Rumours": in the studio it was mixed, it sounded really cool. I haven't heard it in a good consumer system.
- Missy Elliot is adventurous
- Nate Kunkel's James Taylor mix
- Elton John. Those are wild but logical mixes.Mix that I hate the most:
Toto IV: C'mon Elliott, use the center!I think the lack of good mixes is one of the factors that just killed DVDA. I just HATE the Toto disc. I love the album, but the mix is weak in the center, and if you move your head you get all kinds of comb filter effects.
