New DVD-Audio music releases and talk about the latest players.

Re: Help me understand high rez

1. DVD-Video supports 24/96 in stereo. There are a few of those out there, sometimes called DAD.

2. DVD-Audio supports 24/96 multi-channel and stereo and 24/192 stereo. I don't know about the new video formats, but I think they probably also support these.

3. I understand a few DVD-Audios are unencrypted and can be ripped, but most of them cannot. DVD-Video has been cracked and 24/96 stereo DVD-V can be ripped to a computer.

4. Don't know anything about Music Giants.

5. I would assume most people have digitized analog files. But there are also people who do live band recording in 24/96 and these circulate freely and legally on the Internet. Jam bands often allow amateur recording at their concerts.

6. You can download these today, if you like these live band concerts mentioned above. See archive.org. If you like different kinds of music, I don't you will see these anytime soon. The hi-rez formats have not yielded very many releases.
