I confess that for the past years all of my Hi-Rez purchases have been SACD discs. And although by and large I enjoy them, I have noticed that the sonic quality of their reproduction varies dramatically, with only about a third of the SACDs striking me as having truly exceptional resolution. Then recently I listened to a DVD-A and a couple of DAD 24/96s -- and WOW was I impressed with the life-like quality of the sound, even some transfered from much older master tapes. So I'm trying to make up for lost time, and I need your help. Specifically, could you recommend to me a selection of DAD-A's that you consider sonically superior and with performance at least pleasing. My interests are primarily pop vocals and jazz; secondarily classical; and not-at-all rock.
Thanks for you help.
Pete
