Here's my response: read the patent, and you will find out exactly what HDCD decoding does or does not do (assuming you don't misinterpret what you read, and so far your track record is not good). A compliant HDCD implementation is one that follows what the patent describes, within the limits of the certification parameters.Remember, HDCD is not a "product", it is a licensable technology, and as such it is defined by the patent.
HDCD is no longer owned by Pacific Microsonics, it is owned by Microsoft.
Your statements amount to nothing more than conjecture, and inconsistent with that the patent says, so they are wrong.
Again, why don't you send me a copy of the disc you refer to, and we can easily find out whether HDCD decoding makes a difference on that disc. I'm reasonably certain what the results will be, based on my understanding of the patent.
