Pioneer DV-578A questions

New DVD-Audio music releases and talk about the latest players.

I'm wondering a couple of things, and hope y'all can help:
1) How the heck can I play the DVD-Video sector of a DVD-Audio disc?
(I know some of you will ask WHY? Well, it could be to hear the 6.1 DTS mix. Or to compare the Dolby/DTS sound vs. 24/96. Or due to bass mixdown issues. But frankly, I'm just curious, because...)
2) I bought America "Homecoming" and got no sound, due to no analog hookup as of yet. Hmm, very odd, 1st time that has happened. Anyone have comments? (Yes, when I got my lazy self to connect a pair of RCAs, I did get sound out. But I expected some kind of something coming out of the optic output...)
