Some discs with two-channel tracks are "new" versions, some are the original remastered. Many of the discs without two-channel tracks can be "down-mixed" to 2ch from the MC tracks by the player (assuming the player AND the disc support downmixing); however, this would of course be a "new" version, not the original 2ch. Some people find the downmixed versions to sound inferior to "real" 2ch tracks. Others have found them to sound just fine.
