I have not had a problem playing Dualdisc on any of my players. But that is just my experience and I was only talking about the aspect of using PS3 as a music source only. Would I play a cd on it instead of my Njoe Tjoeb 4000, No. Would I play my DVD-A's on it instead of my Panasonic player, No it doesn't play them. The point is I would not buy PS3 just to play Dualdisc when I have machines that already do. I never said it was just a toy and having it discussed in the HT forum is far from banishing it.
