Re: Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, SACD has no future

If Sony didn't buy such an extensive catalog or recordings which it released only to it's proprietary format, I'd have no beef.
However, their monopolistic practice makes me glad to see SACD crash and burn.

Also, the inability to create SACD for the average user makes it much less useful.
Currently, I can record 24bit/96kHz audio and use a $80 program to make DVD-A disks that play on my stereo.
I can also create 5.1, if I so desire.

Try that with SACD.

Sony has kicked the recordist where it hurts with both SACD and the discontinuance of DAT products with no replacement medium.
