The error correction has nothing to do with that.
The readout circuit is only detecting differences in reflected light levels.Also the pits and lands are not 'fuzzy'.
However, the focussing mechanism could be more active due to the thinner cd layer spec. This shouldn't be a problem.

This FUD might have some appeal to the vinyl crowd used to whasing discs but is complete nonsense. I have many CD older than 10 year and even those didn't become 'slightly dazed'.
